Tuition kid no.5

Except that

1) He isn't really a kid, and
2) it's totally FOC.

Offered to teach, because I'm seriously rather worried bout his standard and that he cannot cope with the workload. I wonder if I'm mad. Haha.

And my very smart student just told me today that his paper is in a week's time. Like ... How on earth am I supposed to produce a miracle within a week?! And therefore, there goes Tuesday the free day to 3 tuition sessions.

And another darling student just handed me a teacher's day gift when I was totally not expecting it. Hahaha. (:

Despite the fact that there's still guests around, I'm gonna log off and totally prepare to crash on the bed the moment they head off for home, because I'm damn tired. Sighh. Tomorrow is another long day...

Mayday DNA! (2)

A cut off version, because my battery died in the midst of the video. Heh.

Mayday DNA

was fabulous, even though we were tired out from all the standing, shouting, and mad waving of sticks.

2030 - 0015 worth of Mayday music passed by in a flash, even though there were around 20 percent of the songs that I donno, they have good solid beats enough for me to lose myself into them without knowing what the heck the song is about! It came as a big surprise when they came to the "end" of the concert at around 11.

The encore lasted over an hour! Coolness... At least there was no unfair treatment of not ending before 12, even though I think they might pay dearly for it.. :s Fab fab fab concert.

Unfortunately, as superb as it is, it failed to take me away from my eye's attention, as well as my brain's attention.

Rushed off to send Andy off to Brunei after the concert, and apparently I was too late to send my brother. Ate some food before going home, and some undone questions for tomorrow's tuition, resulting in why I'm not yet asleep now. :s It's like a mahjong game sleeping time and all I did was to watch a concert!!!

Collected my phone back on Friday, after they changed a motherboard for me (: It's like having a new phone again! I'm rediscovering N85 through adding in new new new applications (:

A very huge thanks to Clement. for being the 出氣桶 today and letting me rant out all that was going through my head. If he ever sees this, that is.

Starting to wonder if there's something wrong with the whole world, or is it just me.

Okie, time to sleep, else I'll start muttering gibberish to Susian again tmr :s

Essential brew

has superb dory, nice berry tea, and damn hot soup =D

Had a very relaxed day, and I think I'm glad that I took the afternoon off, if not I'll never have the time to send my phone for repair, -.- and it's driving me nuts!!

Time to get dinner and then head for Shermaine's house.

End of another weekend

And I'm actually so glad that it's ending, because I can finally crawl into bed after nearly 40 hours :s

Nothing short of a fun weekend, although it'll be suicidal to do this again, without at least sleeping a few hours. The only time I really concussed was on the train back home :s I miss my bed!

Jurong JC

is a -.- place.

Since I was going there only at 10, I had ample time to sleep until 8, snooze for a while, bathe and head outta the house to Lakeside as suggested to take a bus down. So I reached the MRT at about 8.50pm, in which I should reach Lakeside at about 9.45am, and I did. Got down the train and asked the control personnel where to take the bus, and was informed that there's no direct bus.. Went to Boon Lay (9.50am), was told that Lakeside is nearer.. -.-!! Like nvm, headed to take 198 coz I called Grace for help, and reached JJC gate at exactly 10, despite the bus uncle ignoring me when I asked if 198 could reach JJC.

Looked through the turnstile woefully, because the freaking gate was LOCKED. The sign on the gate told me to turn left and go to some street, and I turned left.. And walked. Hit a dead end -.-. Went back to walk the other direction, and found the other entrance to the school...... On hindsight, I think it could be that cars must turn RIGHT to the main road before turning LEFT into the HDB area... -.- Reached inside only at 10.15am la..

Helped out with the preparation, and waited for the officers to come in. After the mad rush of coming in + registration + lunch and everything, we settled down to stone :s The last part of the day was the most boring, because everyone else went into the LT and left me to jaga stuff outside :\ But at least Nicole came out with a book for me =D

Day ended not too late, yet spend a long time queuing up for the exit in Vincent's car. It was not a bad day.. Considering I even got a seat on the way back, haha. Was chatting with the officers while waiting just now, and combined with the chat yesterday, I FINALLY realize that I probably have the lousiest major ever.. In terms of timetable -.- I think Chemistry students and Mathematics students can fight.. On hindsight, I think Chemistry students still win in terms of lousiest timetable -.- Seeing a lot of people's timetable recently made me realize that too, and especially helping my cousin with his module bidding! Roars. These were my previous timetables for sem1 to sem6, excluding sem5 in switzerland:

Switzerland was probably the best thing that happened to me, even the timetable was damn shiok.

AND this is my cousin's.

Crap..

But I wouldn't trade chemistry for computing -.-

It's nothing short of a miracle that I was able to pass Japanese term test with SUCH high marks, and for that I promised myself I'll pass the finals, if not for anything, because if not what's the point of passing a term test?

I found something I didn't expect to find, I can't find what I expected. Such a weird and random thing, but it goes to show how very naive I am, and how things don't always go according to one's expectations. Should not expect too much of the never perfect homo sapiens.

Da Vinci - The Genius

Finally went to catch it on the last day of exhibition. The crowd was crazy.. Everyone was as last minute as us, and hence it resulted in a crazy crowd and an impossible queue. And because there were so many people, it probably took twice the time it did for us to walk through everything, because we practically had to queue up to see each exhibit.

I think he's a pretty awesome man, to dabble with everything from the arts, sciences, anatomy, astronomy, warfare, yada yada.. The exhibition seemed endless with all his creations, ideas, paintings. I know none of us probably can appreciate La Joconde properly, but still it was fascinating to watch all the detailed explanations and the breakdown of each an every part of the painting. Imagine they had an analysis for the sleeve of Mona Lisa. SLEEVE. -.-!!

I think we took more than 3 hrs to walk through the whole thing, skipping the near long hour video because we were all soooo tired from walking through the hall.

1:1.618 was encountered in Da Vinci Code already, but it was still fascinating to look at how it exactly works. The only thing I'm wondering is, how on earth did he measure up to the exact 1.618 ratio..? *shrugs.

Anyways, I'm quite glad that I went to the exhibition in the end.

what you see and think may not turn out to be what is seen and believed. argh.

Last day

and it will be over.

Xinjie kor kor's only 5 years older than me. So much to carry, so much responsibility. It ain't his fault if things go wrong, because he is afterall inexperienced.

Heartbroken voice :( 加油,Xinjie kor kor.

Thanks

As much as I don't say it, and you know it as well as I do, but thanks for coming down and being there today.

Wake up call

It just struck me how little I knew about my relative, from what exactly happened all the way to where his house is, because if I recall, I've never been to his house before. It's always been grandma house, grandma house, grandma house.

Wasn't expecting the next few and far in between gatherings to be so soon, of such nature.

It's a wake up call for being stupid and not visiting him when he's still available, all because of some maybe-awkwardness that would be non existent had you been constantly in touch with your extended family.

I hope I won't cry when I see grandparents later, because I'm quite sure they're heartbroken, not expecting any of these and dutifully going to NUH to see my uncle so very often.

Coincidence, that I wore full black today for work.

Start school lo

It's the start of the school term for both NUS and NTU students. Am quite familiar with it, because I've been helping my cousin fix his timetable schedule. U09xxxxx. 0_o. Many a times I just wish that I'm, as with the rest of the people, grumbling about timetables and the long journey back to school, and buying expensive textbooks, and cursing CORS, and balloting for tutorial slots hoping I'll get a good one. Attending lectures at 8am with sleepy eyes and lecturers who drone on and on.. Taking 2 hour breaks yakking away in the canteen while seeing people pass by and asking them what they did for the holidays, squeezing on 95 and going home after a day of no-information gotten into the brain despite having loads of scribbling on the notes.

I don't refute it one bit when they say the grass on the other side is always greener. Bleah.

NDP'09

was fab!!!!

So glad that I could go =D All thanks to Liping. If not, I've have missed yet another year!! This year's show was absolutely fantastic. I always maintain the "only watch NDP if you're there at the moment" principle, because seeing everything in person is so much more fascinating. =D The entire atmosphere's there, not to mention the large sea of red and the constant singing and cheering together!

I was so near to the camera that Yiwen SMSed me and asked if I was at NDP. I expressed my amazement that she really could see me, and she was like, ya, are you in a pink cap? Utterly speechless, lol.

This year's NDP seemed to have quite a change from the previous not-so-entertaining shows, especially in terms of the hosts. Many have criticized Mark Lee for being a host for the event, noting that his English was not quite up to standard, and thus unfit for such a grand event. However, I think that it's perfectly fine for him to host, seeing that he's quite a ch8 comedian icon and some lighthearted banter in familiar good o'Singlish is not really that terrible.. Of course, the variety show about the foreigners in Singapore is another matter..

10 chapters to the entire performance. Preparade started at 6pm and the entire NDP show lasted about 2.5 hours.. Kudos to the people who sweated for this day. It must have been a really happy day for people who put effort into it. Never failed to be amazed at the marching contingent. I think, no matter how much an NSF may grumble about life in army, but at the end of the day when they stepped onto the platform for NDP, it really shows their pride for the country. Ahh uniform = smart. =D

I like Chapter 2 of the performance, especially the pirate chasing scene. It's just damn cool to see all the different types of vehicles and fighting machines on display. They are really awesome!

Drummers all around the floating platform, teaching the moves to welcome the cabinet ministers.

10 chapters of the performance passed by fairly quickly.. Songs these year were quite good. I maintain that the song by Electrico isn't very suitable for the oh-let's-all-sing-along-to-the-song NDP show, because it really is not catchy and simple enough for everyone to sing together, but nonetheless, good song with a powerful tune. I felt that there weren't enough songs from the past though. Medley was good. But I couldn't recognize any of the singers except for Chen Wei Lian -.-

Fireworks this year was good!! But fireworks can only get better, they will not be bad =D

Pledge moment at 8.22pm was awesome. Having a few thousand people say the pledge with you in person is amazingly good. And that's while imagining (say half) Singaporeans saying it in Singapore.. And the Singaporeans saying it out loud in other countries.. I like this moment. :)

Give me NDP'10 anytime, and I'll head to watch it again :] I feel so proud to be a Singaporean!!

I have been doing work dutifully the entire day.

Except for small breaks of distractions. Heh. Must show boss that I did something by tomorrow right, even though I was in office by myself for the first half of the day.

I think I'm meaner and more grouchy these days. I think I'm constantly a bit unbalanced :\ and it's affecting me :\ But in times of this, there's always reminders about how good friends are to me, even though there are some that I feel just want something for a reason without sparing a thought for their friend.

In the light of this, I'm very much a happier person today and it's thanks to Liping! :) You brightened up my entire afternoon.

See you, NDP'09! I'm coming I'm coming!!!

Lots more to say but not the right time and place..

IP Forum 2009

had some hiccups, but generally went ok.

Lesson 1: Always use a FAST laptop even if it's not new. So that it doesn't hang in the middle of nowhere.
Lesson 2: Always be prepared for 1001 last min changes due to people and environment.
Lesson 3: Just whack the camera with flash function even if it distracts! Pictures turned out to be quite blur :\

All in all, everything has been quite an experience and I'm glad at least I'm not "partying" today. -.- Thoroughly tested my typing skills and learnt quite a lot about IP stuff!

A big thanks to Nicole for both days' treat, as well as the so true statement that she made earlier in the day that kinda steered me in the direction. THANKS BABE!

Time to sleep. Have to do that document by tomorrow la.

My 20 bucks screen protector

now has a very very serious flaw.

It may not mean much to other people, but a flaw not serious enough to justify a replacement is enough to drive any perfectionist nuts.

I'm officially depressed, no matter how minor this thing seems to be. :(

Weekend over

and I'm hijacking jh's computer to online, check mail and stuff.

Don't appreciate having my hair all gelled up, but nevertheless it was quite fun. Sean's accidentally throwing drumstick and catching it stunt was worth everything. Lol.

Need to go home soon. Work tomorrow!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

was fantastic, I think. Despite the mixture of reviews that I've gotten (because it's already the 3rd week of showing and I just watched it?)

But nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie throughout even though I was tired from waking up at 7am and my knees almost cui-ed from the cramp seats + long movie combo. It was lighthearted, it was sombre, it was funny and depressing all in one. With the book, the depressing part overshadowed way too much. I thought the movie achieved a rather balanced effect even though in the end half the book's contents were probably not inside and they changed the script a tad too much. But change may not necessarily be bad. It would be just interesting to watch how Harry will deal with Snape in the next movie, since in the movie he actually had a choice of stopping Snape from killing Dumbledore, whereas in the book he didn't really had a choice. The next 2 movies will definitely spiral away from the book again, because of this particular change, which would have made all the difference.

EMMA WATSON IS SO HOT.

Haha random. It's funny to watch them grow as they film movie after movie, seeing midgets become GIANTS. I mean, Draco looked like he could be taller than Hagrid -.- The change in each of them is quite awesome for some.

The entire Harry Potter series is moving towards the very dark side.. It's no longer really suitable for kids. The ending note was really a little heart wrenching and being Harry, I couldn't believe that he really didn't take any action while watching all the death eaters surround Dumbledore.. It's a little weird. Maybe the 7th or 8th movie will explain itself.. But I like the way the movie slowly inches towards movie 7 by giving snippets of information.

I think I read the book so many times that I could practically feel the book breathing down on me while the movie was going on. I could remember all the changes + the left out ones + the extra ones. Haha!

In short, Harry Potter <3

Alright, I ought to be sleeping, seeing that I lost my hard work and I need to redo the solution set for Susian tomorrow. And waking up at 7 the entire week isn't too good for the body!!!!

Saturday

And I'm up the usual time when I wake up for work. Surprisingly. But I'm totally refreshed, because I think I somewhat fell asleep at 11 the previous day.. -.- Which effectively means my Jap is screwed up later la. Maybe that's why I am not really mugging right now but checking my emails and stuff -.-

Another week flew past, and I have yet to make any decision out of anything. Hmm.. Sooner or later the weeks will fly past and it will be December. Zzz.

Very happy for Nicole that she passed her test. Jiayou to the both of us for our respective exams today! Though I think I can give you all the luck since my fate's pretty sealed.

Nothing much this week except maybe I pissed off a couple of people. IP Forum on Wednesday! I hope I learn something when IPOS people come down.

FINALLY watching/having the time to watch Harry Potter tonight. Hopefully it'll be good, and I'll have a great time watching it..

Istana performance tomorrow. Another busy weekend. Ok it's time to get some last min information in.
