Newfound knowledge

That Starbucks @ Tampines has a hole in the roof. In terms of opaqueness, that is.

All the cycling in the morning didn't do any change in terms of my skin color. Now that the sun is shining solely on one of my hands, maybe I'll find myself with a darker right arm later on :\ With the help of glass, no less. Haha.

But at the very least, I'm not feeling cold!

I absolutely adore the idea of being able to cycle everywhere in Tampines.. (:

Fingers crossed.

Let's keep our fingers crossed, and hope for a miracle.

Hectic!

Aiyo, my god =.=

Library day today. Borrowed 10 items and have 2 free books. Yay! There's something to occupy me on the train for the next few weeks. :)

Piling~

3 PPTs to do, one official, one event, one sharing. All to be submitted in March.. Woohoo. It looks like I might be spending the weekend buried in work. I actually find myself wishing I have the VPN token to access all my emails out of office.. ...

Nevertheless, it's a good thing that I didn't end up stabbing myself today. God, what restraint..

It's really very hard to work with people of different working styles. And perception.

Or it could have been the fact that he's already out of the line circling me, and I'm not letting him back in.. Haha.

Sluggish

For reasons other than lack of sleep, since I slept at 11 yesterday.. :D

Realized that I am going to be very, very busy for the next couple of weeks.. And come March, it will be a super happening month with plenty going on! Events, courses will plague me :\ Time juggling!

In the past, I didn't take much notice of it. Now that I've taken out the copy of The Big Five Personality Traits analysis done by RCI way back in 2003 with TJC.. I realized that everything is actually quite true, even the negative traits. It's time to reflect and be ready for a change with Vincent's Myer-Briggs! (If he remembers, that is..)

And it surprised me to find out that what I expected of myself has already been detailed out 7 years ago. And it only took me recently to realize it on my own.. :\

1st bike trip with THE bike

Decided to be a good citizen for the most part of the time, and followed nearly all the rules along the road. Although my reflexes are still slow till the point that I saw a car coming and I SLOWED DOWN instead of hurried across the road, there were no major hiccups.

Took a shortcut cutting into the park connector halfway to go to Pasir Ris park and for the first time appreciated the fact that I live so near to Pasir Ris that I can go to the park, circle 2/3 of the park, and be back home (stopping loads on the way) in 1.5 hours! It was quite shiok to cycle as and when I wanted and be under the sun but (un)fortunately the Vit D I gained was not enough to do any damage.

The bike was.. comfortable. The gears and everything, being new, was very smooth. The handle was not so, however, even though the brother assured me that he got used to it by the second time. I wish there was a bell and a basket though!

Nevertheless, I am sure I will spend more time exploring the other connectors now that I have a bike at home! Anyone with bikes (live in Tampines or at least the east part!!) wanna go cycling someday????

I can be quite stubborn when I want to...

Depending on what it is, or depending on my mood.

Don't know. I didn't think my anger felt justified today, but I just lost my temper anyway. It must be PMS. And I guess, yes I can be stubborn when I want to. Don't exactly know what was wrong with me, that I almost totally couldn't control my emotions at all. That is NOT me. I am almost, always, in control. Think it's all the little little things that I can be stubborn about.

Free tomorrow afternoon. Maybe it's time to grab that bike and disappear alone for a few hours.

On 人日,

I pray that everyone will be well and healthy, that everyone may 逢凶化吉, that everyone gets what they wished for.

A sudden bout of panic.

CNY came and went.

And nothing changed much after all. It's still the same visiting, still the same old food and places, still the same old gambling. Except with a bit more luck this year. :D Won enough to get myself a wallet (and I mean it literally), I guess that's the last of the spendings for this CNY, I think I spent enough to burn a crater hole in my bank account, -.- I must have been euphoric at the sight of 4k+ entering my account to spend money like water, but since I'm over budget.. Might as well over all the way~! Wahahaha.

Something different might be that there will be no 初七 dinner with the paternal side. Though parent says grandpa says its mafan for us to go out and eat, I can't help but have the nagging thought that it's some other reason, and that other reason has got to do with 大伯 and the fact that he's no longer here and his son is not exactly discreet at keeping his distance and displaying his dislike for us. Shall not delve too much into that.

Another difference might be that there might be no relatives coming to my house this year, because parent is busy this Sunday and next Sunday there might be some stuff going on.

With all the lesser gatherings, it's no wonder CNY doesn't really feel much like CNY anymore. Good thing Janelle's the constant to keep a smile on my face (:

I am one mean grouchy person who bears grudges.

It only just struck me today that I am no saint.

There is always this invisible line, that most people do not cross. But once they cross.. I doubt any of them has ever stepped back. Or maybe it's me that draws back that line instead.

So bo chup-ing isn't necessarily a good thing - like what I'm doing with more than one person right now.

The only thing is, they might not necessarily care, either.

That said, a happy CNY eve eve to everyone~!

Kids will be kids

I've forgotten that "Starbucks" doesn't exist in secondary school students' dictionary.

JJ: Can I buy something with 2 dollars??
JJ: Wah....... So expensive.

Of course I didn't bring the lot to Starbucks and expect them to pay for the drinks. I remembered back then 5 bucks was my JC allowance a day -.- Which means it was effectively lesser than 5 bucks for sec sch, and then a drink at Starbucks is like, 6 bucks.

So I bought them a couple of drinks + muffin. Anyone would smile seeing the look on their faces after drinking and eating. (: It's the kind of simple happiness I seldom find on people's face nowadays. They kinda brought me back to the sec sch days, where having a 6 bucks nice coffee drink was pure bliss.

Of course, it's hard to attain that level with the equivalent, or even more, sometimes. Hard to search back that feeling, and even though they thanked me for today, I felt that I should be thanking them instead. Haha, seriously hard to describe my feelings now. Maybe the sense of satisfaction is much easier to explain, seeing the lot nodding their heads. Hmmm, I need to practise people management when dealing with 3 kids. The best effective way to not waste everyone's time.

I may not have landed the teaching job, but I'm deriving the same kind of satisfaction here, which unfortunately I can't get in YL. Dizi <3

Haha, I wonder if anyone can find events/places for the missing alphabets.. (Ok, I put JJ's name in :s hahaha) This is quite interesting. Came across this site while pondering over the itinerary for my event.

Super tired, Slept only 3 hours on Sunday morning -.- Visited the National Museum of Singapore - it's my first time!!!!! Visited the Quest for Immortality and saw mummies. Rather interesting. Shall put the photos up when I have time. :D The paper bag exhibition was interesting too! It makes me feel like going on a museum tour around Singapore. They can be interesting! I wonder why I've always hankered after overseas museums but not our own. They are nice (:

And because I stayed up late yesterday to watch Autumn's concerto, I was so worried I wouldn't be able to wake up this morning -.- (and still continued to watch anyway~). Thanks to Clement's dad for fetching us to work, at least I got a seat all the way even if I thought it would be really rude to fall asleep on the car, LOL.

And HELLO YUENLING YOU'RE BACK!! :D:D:D

小小彬 vs 小彬彬

Omg I swear this kid's a natural at crying.. 0_0 To cry until so tired and stoning!!!!!

Just the actors alone, it's worth watching the show. (:

A regular chip off the old block, like the legendary 小彬彬 that everyone knew (everyone born in the 70s anyway). They look identical!!!!

Left kid:  小小彬 Right kid: 小彬彬

It's 2 hours to FRIDAY!!

Contemplating whether to spend 80 bucks or 100 bucks :]

Spent a bomb on clothes yesterday! But it was quite reasonable, I think. Shopping shopping and more shopping ~~~~

----------

Feel like fainting so often these days, I suspect I can become very cynical towards a person who irritates me. =.= Gosh, how, for the next n days?! It's endless rambling if I start, so better not.

On the other hand.. stage 1 and 2 have passed. Now just waiting for THAT phone call, then stage 3 to finally having an existence known!

----------

Sometimes, all I need is that instant gratification when I get a "I understand" and proceed to really understand. Sometimes really, this is just what I need. Monetary gains are just secondary (:

OMG, you HAVE to watch this.

[edit] OMG, I just heard at the end of the link, "Be original, buy original. A message brought to you by IPOS."

Tell me, am I sane or have I gone mad from work?!?!?!

Oh gosh, what a fantastic surprise! Trust JJ to do something like that, given the previous performance @ JJ Party 3.. :D I think I can totally understand why JY cried. 0_0 It's a pleasant surprise not everyone may get, and it's one of my fave surprises :D :D :D Because if you didn't realize, I'm a fanatic of surprises, which is why I crack my head to surprise other people :D

In case anyone is interested in what he was saying before that..
