Bad dream

And after one entire day, I am still haunted by how bitterly I cried in the dream. How heart wrenching and terrible I felt, despite the first part of the dream being so happy.

:( I want to continue the dream and find that baby.

The satisfaction comes

Whether or not the test is indeed easy.

Albeit the fact that it was just 6 questions with no complexity.

It is still worthy of a small celebration because it is afterall the first test that he passed :D Hopefully with this comes more of such cases.

Ah, nothing can compare with the satisfaction. Not even when the teachers beside me yesterday were staring at me wondering, I guess, if I'm a fellow teacher. HAHA. Nope, no stacks of worksheets to mark :p

And this reminds me why I got into this entire business in the first place.

6 years ago, I was just someone who wanted to earn some fast cash. At 25/hr, it was a lot at that time even if I only go for 2 times a week. But of course, the first student is normally an epic fail because I was not sure what to teach, and not to mention at J2 my knowledge of chemistry was, whilst not zilch, definitely not quite up to par for teaching.

6 years ago, I also took up the greatest challenge of all after my A levels - and still remains a challenge to me. Whilst I'm glad I'm part of the group whom she will actually tell her true feelings to, the curriculum wise is really, really, a huge headache.

5 years ago, I completed the first student in my life and received rather dismal results - but yes, that was because I was incompetant.

In NUS life, was coaching Tanna and group off and on, as well as Shermaine (duh).

2 years ago, received some students from Karen, as well as started out with Mr Quah's son. Quite a year because I managed to pull some dismal results (note: E8) up all the way to B3, as well as a couple of others. Though half the credit belongs to the Physics side.

1 year ago, more students somewhat. Forgot how they came about. Taught the first N tech even though I have completely no idea what N tech science was about. - Thanks to Daniel. Haha. Susian was a darling though.

This year, giving some free (or almost free) help to 2 people, another one who is finally opening up, and Mr Quah's second son. He must have trusted me enough. Speak about tutoring his daughter when she needs it too - and she is only in Pri 5. How ironic. Haha. 

Right now I've moved from being incompetant to competant (or so I hoped). Still have questions that baffle me, but at least logic solves it. (Chemistry, to me, is like logic. At least it's more logical than any other sciences. -_-)

It explains why I've never left the tuition scene - the sense of satisfaction greatly outweighs any other factor. Yes - even the money - for I quite earn peanuts now tutoring. Despite coming into this business BECAUSE of money.

And I have my bestie cousin to thank, for allowing Samantha into my life and sparking off everything else that followed (:

Auntie magnet

I seem to be quite an auntie magnet around here.. All the cleaning aunties like to talk to me.

And the cleaning auntie this morning commented that she likes my face (?!)

And continued to ask if I'm married.

And then asked me if I have a bf.

AND then said I will be very happy in future from the looks of my face.

?!?!

I had no idea the auntie does fortune telling as a sideline.. Wahaha. Maybe I should have given her a red packet :p

Sunday

And I'm stoned from seeing MS Word + PPT for the entire weekend :s

Went to watch Monga yesterday, and boy, it was good. Very thought inducing and I AM still confused at the plot, but it's really good! Brotherhood and other sub themes, very clearly displayed. 

Karaoke-d again yesterday, because xiaojiu subscribed to one month's worth :D More karaoke sessions @Starhub to come!!! Nicole is a closet Mayday fan, :D

And Mark Chao is here at SA 2010!!! :D Just finished watching the 星光大道 and gonna start on pizza dinner~! Fufilled my dream - dreamt of pizza but nv got to eat it. Alarm rang - wah lau.. 

Gonna enjoy SA 2010 later~ And squinting at more MS in between commercials :s

Laugh until pengs

Went out with the immersion mates yesterday. Oh, what laughter!! I haven't seen the bulk of them since 2006-2007, except for Amy which I've seen her around in my last semester in Biomolecules. Once we met we started recalling all the times and nonsense we had in our 3 weeks. What fun!!! Most of the time we ended up exploring Amy's past entries on our immersion days. Ahh.. I wanna go back to Switzerland! Nice people, nice scenery~

And today is back to reality with more worksheets to do and more notes to create.. :\ Sometimes I wonder why I torture myself so!

Megabites!

Yummy~ Long time since I stepped into NUS, saw a new BUILDING. -_- But otherwise, everything stayed the same. After eating, we walked around for a bit and went into NUS CO-OP, where i saw this and decided to get it!! 8 bucks only leh. Very worth it!!

Heh heh.

Bloody early

Can't believe I woke up bloody early today. Before 8 on a Sunday is really a feat beyond feat especially when I was laughing my toes off at 百分百 yesterday at 3plus am still. Mentally not processing stuff too well now -_- And time literally flying past does not help!!! I'm still halfway from finishing my target today.

Last night's karaoke session was indeed a very happy session. Amazed at starhub's capability to squeeze money out of people.. Haha. Hopefully they will add more songs in time to come (esp JJ's new album!!!) and I'll have a blast of a time :D

I'M SO SORRY CLEMENT!!!

Found the Christmas card FOUR MONTHS after Christmas, unopened.. Well done. And it's made me a tinge guilty about wanting to register for French but not doing it yet!!! Omg.

And it again reminded me that I was so busy last year to write any cards. Guilty guilty. Will write 'em this year!

One more work day to 2 days of courses

= Sort of long weekend. Haha. 

Kind of finished the work that I wanted to do today. Justified to slack for a while. 

Programme got through got through got through~! Happy. At least all that work, was for something!

Eyes closing..... This is what happens whenever I start on a new series. And this is precisely why I always hesitate to start on a new series!!!! 

Will lose my Tuesday freedom next week. Better treasure it while I can..

Dreams

Some dreams leave a deeper impression than others.

The dream I had yesterday was a very good dream. (: So good, I still have memory of it (and everyone knows how goldfish I can be)

Two women, one man, a void deck, public space, heels, laughter, spinning.

Because it's such a nice dream, I'm going to keep it secret and hope it comes true. People say if you don't reveal your dreams, they will come true right?

Inept teacher

Wall after wall after wall after yet another wall.

4 walls = 1 square.

After walking into corners for so long, it's a little hard not to be subdued. Or disappointed. Or depressed, even. 鬼見多了，也都學會怕黑。And all I ever wanted were for those corners to be a little rounder instead of standstill sharp 100% of the time.

I may never know if I'm expecting way too much from her calibre, that I expect her to stand tall to my expectations and that she's as good as anyone else.

I do know that she's not the brightest of them all, she cannot recognize patterns to save her life, and everything must be the same before she will attempt them. But to ask for steps within steps is a little off, seriously. And chemistry is not like o level maths where you can memorize away. and write out the steps just changing the values. There are changes within chapters and questions.

I've totally run out of ideas. Dislike it as I may, I might have to admit to myself that I'm on the verge of giving up. On that edge. Save for hard memorizing which I've probably already proven that doesn't really work, I really don't know what else I can do. 

At the very end of it all, I would have failed as a tutor. In what capacity do I have to take in a student again if I should fail with this one? I've proven that I can't even do well 1-1, let alone taking a class of students.

Sleep, sleep AND more sleep..

I was only awake for a grand total of FOUR hours on 6th Apr 2010. .....

Woke up at this unearthly hour (for a non work day at least) because I was so bored of sleeping, and because I was hungry. It's a lethal combination. Sleep is evil. It turned my runny nose + sore throat into a full fledged fever of 38 deg throughout. 

No matter how nua I feel, I'll still have to get out of the hse later and get the second day MC. Haiz. Energyless!

Meanwhile, wondering what I can do at 7am in the morning with noone awake at this bloody hour.

Soup.. Porridge.. Comfort food.. :(

I shall find some day and go stock up on campbell soup / cup noodles so that I can have instant soup when I want to. :( 

That would be subjected to my brother finding it and finishing it, of course.

:( Red nose sore throat and feeling miserable. Rub some of the lavender essence and off I go to sleep. What a wasted night with nothing done.

Back to gym routine!

I think I went gym like, ONCE in March. =.=!! March was simply crazy. 

But now April has arrived, and I am not so busy to skip gym altogether~! Time to get back that momentum and stamina and twice a week gym sessions. 

That's not to say cycling even. I haven't been cycling for the past 2-3 weeks. :( Raining doesn't help!!

Looking forward to next week - course = long weekend~

Electrolysis

is always something that's grappled me even in secondary school times.

For that, I am so glad that combined science doesn't require electrochemistry knowledge.

And I remembered that only my electrochemistry notes in TJ had nonsense scribblings on it. That was how bad I was at it. =.=

And now I'm making notes on it..

Still trying to figure out what constitutes concentrated and what doesn't.

New laptop new laptop new laptop~

Finally decided on a laptop after hrs at expo today, staring at the different types of laptops and how I would use them. As usual, only brother's advice is sound and I got myself a heavy one, contrary to the light / small type I was looking for at first. I guess I can always plan to bring my work laptop out if I need to.. Hahahaha. 

Tired. Will read the manuals tmr. Meanwhile, I'm loving the laptop!
