Friends ahoy

I am deeply amazed at how friendships can be formed anywhere, everywhere. And to further prove my point, I think I need to watch "The Social Network". Heehee.

I have never seen the bunch of them before, we are in all time zones possible, and yet there are some people who will just be there 24/7; we can discuss anything under the sun; and have fun forming strategies together. Life on FB has been so much fun since the bunch of them ♥

Very bad first half and very good second half.

Spent the first half of the day being (*&$#*@(&$@ and the second half :):) Work was terrible in the morning, with questions and more questions and some oversight that none of us should have made but we all did. More #$&*@($ on some idiot who obviously wanted to act legal but failed.. zzz hopefully everything's resolved in the second half of the day which I was not present.

Made arrangements with Grace to take half day off and off we went to Vivocity for Earle's Swensen's! Ordered just before 2 for the 1-for-1 promotion and the buffet salad bar was fab! The next time I go back there I'll be sure to just go for the salad bar, it'll be more than enough to keep us happy and full (: Spent a very relaxing afternoon shopping (I got my dress I got my dress!!) and settling down @ Starbucks with a book, just like what we wanted to do two years ago but never got the chance to!

Finished Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper and found it rather heart wrenching :( I have to admit that she has a pretty good way of bringing across her twists, and I think she may have a newfound fan in me. Just that why the two books I read so far are so sad!

Lunch became dinner as we ended up too full. =.=

If only there can be more of such afternoons!

And I realised I blogged remotely little this month as compared to the rest (I mean, 9 this month compared to 27 last month?!) Maybe this shows that I am too lazy to blog and sooner or later everything will just slip off the mind and this will become obselete..

Or everything could just end up in the private one.

Yet another early Saturday morning with nothing to do

When it's way too early to be thinking of work and I woke up only wanted to go back to sleep but still can't because I made a promise and in the end I was not there.

Always kena conned to wake up early for nothing.. I never imagine I'll finish the The Stepford Wives DVD early on a Saturday morning when I borrowed it. :(

On a bright side, going to watch the last of the Millennium series later. =))

And hopefully he made it!

Managing expectations

Something I learnt this morning after having a "unit" meeting.

Came across this article which I suspect could probably give IPAM a run for their money. And I came to the ever popular story for managing expectations.

" A boy stopped in between 2 stores which sold candy. The stores sold the exact same candy at the exact same prices. The store on the left was manned by a grandpa, who had been in the business for 10 years. He scooped some candy out for the girl who wanted to buy some, then slowly scooped more out and topped it up to the weight she desired. A young man had just opened the store on the right and was also scooping the candy for another girl who went in. He held a big bunch of candy on the scale, and upon realizing that it was over the weight of candy the girl requested, took some and put it back into the jar.

The boy smiled and went into the shop on the left, for the image of scooping more candy out had been etched in his mind. "

I guess I didn't realize how important managing these expectations were until today, when I actually heard the crux of the comments. Oh well, it could be any factor leading to this, right up to this very moment. But good thing is boss shares the same sentiments, and thus it does not matter as much since it's very much easier to manage boss' expectation rather than the junior staff.

Spent some time poring over the articles.

Managing expectations is about perception - under promise and over deliver.

Cooking impulses!

We had breakfast over @ Clement's place yest.. Or was that lunch, at 11.40am. Hmmm. But anyways! The food was good, and I only realised how ridiculously easy it was to make pancakes (minus the spilling soup part and the building up pressure part) and I am inspired to make pancakes for breakfast soon!

And I am so inspired to make lots of other things; casseroles, brownies, honey roasted walnuts, what nots! Cooking is ♥ esp when the food turns out to be good. As with the "chemists are good cooks" term coined by Bettina, at least I make edible stuff. Hohoho.

Warm!

Been scotching hot the entire day while I was in a constant bout of perspiration, I was sneezing away the entire day as well.

Ending up with sweat and tired from sneezing with a developing headache isn't how I want my weekend to end :(

Slacking @ TCC

Some alone time is needed. I haven't done anything like this for goodness knows how long! :) The drink could be better though. So much for wanting to try a new drink. Lol.

Feeling some tinge of don't-know-what reading through the event wall, and I promise myself I will never organise something like that for the entire group again. Never. Not when I feel like I'm being taken for granted every time and people start to think that it's a natural affair that I will end up paying first and all other kinds of nonsense that vibrate = no need pay.

Want to go watch Legend of the Fist.

CDs galore

I haven't bought a single CD ever since MJ disappeared from Tampines Mall, except for 100 days maybe. So when I found MJ Multimedia in Vivo, I was.. <3 Promptly threw my $$ there :s

Music scores! I can't read taugeh for nuts. Let alone piano scores?

Also bought Yen-J's album, out of sheer impulse. His songs are nice though!

Early early weekend!

Very early weekend started this afternoon (not counting professional sharing cos mystery shopping at vivo is just so much fun!)

Was let off at 5 and shopped with Julie for more than an hour! I knew I should not have shopped aimlessly... Damn, found something so ridiculously exp to buy! Zzz. How miraculously would it have a sale in the next one month?!?! Not to mention the fact that I alr sent a substantial amt on, hmmm.. Wahaha.

Had fun meeting the ex temps for dinner. Charis is just always so entertaining! It's a great way to start off the weekend..

Tmr's another great way to continue the weekend! Pray that it doesn't rain! Pls pls!

Ramblings

Am supposed to finish reading the chapter and finish off the newsletter, but too distracted by the pounding on the right temple to concentrate on reading.

Can't wait for tomorrow to come.. Where tuition for this week would have ended and where the afternoon will be spent outside of office and thereafter it's the start of the weekend!! Right, have to plan route.. Hmmm.

Small gesture, hopefully boss will like it! I really like the CD-holder-turned-photoframe a lot, it's in checkers! Following ExCEL day ma - more than 1 possibility of use for every product! Hehe.

Feeling rather apologetic lately, for not being able to attend the concert with her because I'm heading for JB. :( I would pay for her ticket, but no one else seems to be interested in going too. *sigh*

Incoherency - I told you, it's ramblings.
