The annual milestone celebration post~

Posting it the lazy way again! But at least we celebrated all our milestones properly this year (just before P2HA, oops).

Since we can't travel... I've invested a significant sum of money into the Singapore economy.

T-149 days to WEDDING

1001 things yet to do:

1) Settle house issues (AND ROM Date along with it)
2) Settle AD montages (and copyright licences, too)
3) Photobooth and alternatives
4) Sourcing for a frame for casual shoot photos
5) Sourcing for bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen attires
6) Send wedding invites to colleagues (damn, this is really hard...)
7) Schedule food tasting
8) Go look for Si Dian Jin
9) Decor for AD venue.....
10) Select songs for Benjamin to play (and settle copyright licences, while at that)
11) Settle on the theme (and the #)
12) Choose AD gowns
13) Bringing parents to buy outfits
14) Buying furniture and prepping for reno
15) Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

As you can see, the orders are all messed up and SO AM I! At least I've settled the makeup...?

Getting a house and getting married at the same time is no joke :( We will pretty much die in September I think, with house renovations and furniture shopping and wedding prep all at the same time.

Anyways, the fun part was over! Other than the stupid eye, we had a good time during the photoshoot and even though we paid more than what we thought we would pay for additional photos..... I blame One Piece Restaurant!

Loved all the dresses that we picked out for the shoot~ The man has pretty good taste, I must admit! Can't wait to see all our photos in June :D

I've apparently also neglected this blog and had missed our birthday celebrations and our anniversary here! So... as a record, just 3 photos, one for each occasion:

Birthday Month.. or not?

2 months down the road (from the last update), we've settled so much more but GOT PLENTY MORE to do!!!!! Gosh I don't know how we managed to have soooo many things to settle, and really big ticket ones too like house and TW itinerary. Gah roar~

Perhaps that's why it doesn't feel like it's my birthday month. Soooo many things to do I have totally neglected the TW itinerary! Oh well... Today is the start of birthday "celebrations" (with dinner with bestie!) and so I hope the weekend will be a good celebration with the man!

And then it's back to housing and more wedding stuff.. I can't believe that we might actually have a house of our own soon! (maybe).

Project birthday anniversary

It's such an amazing coincidence that the bf was in reservist these few weeks, so that I can plan for his birthday and the anniversary in peace without having the possibility of him coming over and discovering what I was doing!

The lemon tart that took me 2 tries to get it "right" and still without the meringue sigh.

The poor man was so distraught by his reservist on his birthday month (and actual birthday, no less!) I just had to do something nice for him on his actual birthday even though we are only celebrating it this weekend.

And also, I am secretly very excited at planning Sunday, because he knows nuts about my plan hehehehe.

Next up... Project travel scrapbook! Done and immensely happy with it! Can't believe I've been procrastinating doing up this book for years and he would be the recipient of this in the end. I guess motivation is compelling this time round.

Now I just have to hide it in my luggage to Bintan hehehe.

Doing this makes me so happy looking at the pictures even though I can barely keep my eyes open today!

To Be Continued :)

Birthday 2017

Best birthday. So normal, and so special at the same time.

I remember I once told him, I couldn't stand having to "report" the day's happenings, where I am and what I am doing to WX the period of time we arranged to go MOE together. His reply was I just have to find the correct person to do so and it won't be an "obligation" anymore.

Well.. I guess it's true :)

So it was the last birthday before the next one which will start with T-H-R-E-E

And really, I'm not that bothered by the fact. Who cares about turning from 29 to 30 (it really is of no difference turning 29 from 28, if you ask me).

I hope 29 will be the best year yet, with a better body, better work results, completion of my master's degree (finally!) and maybe another half? It is 順其自然 as far as I am concerned.

You know how as you grow older, you don't really expect much with birthdays and celebrations? A good dinner, a chill-out session, a couple of cakes, good enough, yeah? But this year despite the busy schedule, I somehow had more elaborate celebrations than the previous ones.

I'm always stoked about getting handmade/handcrafted items, and suddenly I received a ton of them this year (including the twin's). The feeling of being loved is so hard to describe, and I have more than my fair share during the past week. I don't know how to describe it, but it might be my best birthday so far. I must have done something right to deserve all of this.....:)

Anyway, I just hope that I'll survive the last month of studies and graduate with a bang! Also hope to contribute more at work and help to firm up the processes, solving the teething issues. And of course, not to neglect my friends and family who have expended much effort for me. I see and appreciate them!

And that, is quite sufficient for me at the moment.

xoxoxo

I got my twin back

The best best best bestest birthday I got this year was not the present, but the person giving the gift.

I lost my twin sometime last Sept for unknown reasons. Somehow, she suddenly stopped all contact and was cold even when I talked to her. I was so upset over the half a year but yet I didn't have the courage to thrash things out. Work and school this semester totally didn't help since I was occupied from morning till night everyday. I simply didn't have the energy to deal with it...

Things got slightly better this month and when she passed me the present yesterday, we did have a truce (of sorts) and I was so madly happy it then dawned on me how much I was missing my twin. :)

I'm so glad that it is sorta over and awkward as it may be at the start, I will do right this time and work bit by bit towards where we left off.

Slight hiatus

Sooner or later I may stop blogging. I think the only reason why I haven't stop is because I look at past entries and still know what the hell I was talking about and to me, the lousy memory person, that probably says a lot. I can remember a lot of things only with triggers.

-sigh- old liao.

Passed 28 yrs without much fanfare but good enough. Birthday present to myself was completing the NTU Bike Rally with 134km on an awesome bike! One fine day I will have my own bike but it will be because my brother has finally gotten tired of me damaging his and forbids me from using it hehehe. Will leave this record for a bit, should not attempt to go further till that IT Band Friction Syndrome has been sorted out! The pain in the knee, whilst localised and acute only when doing squats, is becoming very annoying and I will aim to have it out of my life!

First thing, of course, is to strengthen up my weaker muscles to align my legs properly!

Last day of March

And I am going to forfeit a number of birthday discounts/vouchers. This month was hectic to say the least, both at work and with studies. 23 days to exams. It's time to really sit down and start memorising the damned definitions!

I am oddly at peace with myself. And perhaps part of it is due to the fact that I have FINALLY finished reading that textbook. 3 May can't come soon enough. And after that, it's really time to enjoy myself in Europe. The well-deserved break that I should have!

Europe Europe Europe.. And that guidebook.

I will receive my excellent results in Europe. I will!

Junhong's 21st

ALL started with a phone call that had me ready in.. 20min. Inclusive of packing and what nots. WHAT a way to start off the day!! Reached Downtown East after bathing and packing in record time and bought MEGA loads of fruits and rubbish food.. :D

Deco-ed the place and don't know why it was 5pm so soon! Rushed back to Weisheng's hse to get some last min stuff and off we went back to the chalet! Seriously, a normal work day is not this tiring :s But the party went well and everyone was happy enough. Talked to loads of people I had not been talking to in a while and it was :) Didn't realise the whole thing dragged this late until I called my dad to tell him that I would be staying over @ the chalet, only to realise that it was already 1am.. @_@

Fooled around until 4plus and slept.. Till 9. So little sleep yet I couldn't sleep any longer.. Originally wanted to go for breakfast, do some work, go for tuition and go home to sleep like a log.. None of that happened in the end -_- except for the work part (well, partly at least). Ended up cancelling tuition because I was so tired but not sleeping and in the end playing mahjong?!? Watched a movie at 1am somemore?!?!?! Hahahaha but the movie was okay lah. Just the timing was -_- Fighting my way to stay awake throughout the entire movie after having napped for 1hr prior to the movie. Totally fell into deep deep sleep in that one hour that I didn't want to wake up -_-

Spent today meeting up with the few guys and it was fun :) Although it really wasn't anything interesting but a meal.. Lol.

And that concluded the very tiring long weekend and I suspect I will be stoning at work and at tuition tmr AGAIN with aches everywhere and a tingling pain in the neck and more 青草油 @ the thumb wahaha.

12 March 2010

was so tiring =.=

Almost spent the entire day not at my desk, but either talking to officers, listening to grouches, or preparing for Tuesday. Was pleasantly surprised that boss remembered my birthday until he reminded me that he has a pda phone.. :\ Thank god ADAD didn't mention the fb msg too, I might have died of embarrassment if he did!! Something tells me he hasn't seen it yet... Haha.

The second part of the day after work was spent at home, cutting cake, and then going out for dinner and zi char is always nice even though I wasn't hungry the entire day after Sushi Tei lunch + dark mocha :|

Chilling out at Timbre was a surprise when I met Mel! And omg she had all the funny sms-es and expressions which made me laughed inadvertently all the time. But glad that I'm gonna see them all on Sunday though Vien can't make it.

Am most surprised at the phone call at about 12nn. Kudos to never forgetting my birthday (even though we've lost contact for.. years?! and that I can't quite remember his birthday) (: It left a smile on my face the entire day.

Thought of heading to Starbucks, but I think I had enough of chocolaty stuff for the moment.. Until at least my ulcer heals :\

And hence I'm 24~

24 is just another age, and when you're with younger people all the time, getting older is just another routine. I'm been fine with getting older since eons ago, esp when the people in office are all older than me now. I feel like a baby :o Older? So be it, except that I spent the first few minutes of my yr 24 on earth wondering whyyyy on earth the bus was moving so slow..

Dinner with the "union" was good, esp since I haven't met up with them for so long! And the waiter was really funny :\

But what impacted me the entire night was a single sentence: she's my staff.

It gives me a sense of belonging and I'm really proud to be working under him, and I love my work and being in my unit and section and division even though I may be brainwashed (:

Professional Sharing (1)!

The jitters got over me, but at least it's all over wahahaha. Interesting presentations with interesting ideas, and some are just downright funny i.e. suan king. It does allow us to know more about one another, and therefore it was a good few hrs spent. (:

Updated my calendar for March, and oh my more and more things to come in. I guess this is the real meaning of "a birthday is just another workday" with one meeting and a dry run to conduct. :\

Time to start on the newsletter before boss asks me for it -.-

COS debate, please end soon so that we may all go off!! I have a far ulu distance to go leh.

Happening weekend~

Weekend started off on Friday night with the SCO Opening Gala and Y.E.S. 93.3 FM 20th Anniversary Rhapsodies of Spring 2010 春花齐放 2010~! Bwahaha, thanks to the source who got me the tickets, the performance was fantastic, and it's been so long since I've listened to chinese chinese orchestra songs. Violinist was great, and so was the 600k violin that she was using.. :s My only grumble was that the skit was so short! :s It's a rare sight to see all 933 deejays together (:

Seem to be conking out at nights lately. Conked out at about 2am and woke up at 9plus to prepare for the huge Costa Sands party project for the day. And yes, I skipped the talk that I registered for =.= Loaded some stuff to bring to the chalet, went for lunch, and ended up at the chalet at 2plus. It took 2 trips for most of the stuff to be brought over to the chalet, and one more trip to bring my mum + bbq food over. So many things!!!!!!!! While I was still blowing the balloons, Jason + kid and wife arrived.. And the endless rounds of carrying nieces/nephews/cousin began!! Everything snowballed from there and soon we had so many people it's scary :p Miss icy-friendship-only-last-half-an-hour-princess arrived and it took me so long to cajole her to end up playing balloons with her :D

And Pinyan got to play with her because of me, LOL. The first person outside of family to see Janelle. Well done.

Popped over to Harry's birthday for a while for cake cutting, and mingled for a little while before going back, but alas, Janelle was gone by then! Cleared up everything after they were done with their mahjong and finished at about 2.30, before sleeping at 3plus, near 4. --> Family chalet, so definitely will end up sleeping. Haha.

My brother's friends are uber creative. They gave him a key and told him it was to unlock something. Upon reaching home at noon to collect his old phone (consequence of a stupid act, but it's okay), he found a bike outside our house!!!!!!!!!! BIKE!!!!!!! Okay, he already said I'm more excited than him. :D hahahaha.

BBQ-ed more before returning the equipment at noon time. So ate rubbish food for the entire day, but mum cooked charcoal-ed porridge!! Woot <3 Left the chalet at 5plus, and so damn tired with aching everywhere!!

But still enjoying my Autumn's Concerto now :D

Another workweek, back to the headache paper. I just have this feeling I might have put a little more pressure on myself more than I realized.. But do it, I will! Butchered - Heaven's will. Maybe that's how I'll learn the most in the shortest amount of time.

Fast forward 4 days, to Thursday night :D

End of a weekend, and I'm already looking forward to the next weekend. Heh heh.

Nope nope, I'm not in anyway depressed about the end of the weekend, unlike Grace :s I'm really, just looking forward to a few fun days over the next weekend.

Dinner on Saturday night was good. But walking around for 1 hr plus until I was late, was not good :s But at least, there was a good cake, and a good present.. Heh heh. Satisfied.

Rambling, rambling.. Smiles.

Week-long celebrations

It just seems like I'm getting lazier and lazier and giving weekly updates instead of event updates, lol. Another week just passed by like that!

The birthday celebrations started off on Tuesday. I met Liping, Longhui and Weisheng to go harborfront for some dim sum goodness at 龍門! Because I haven't been there in a while, I was actually pretty excited to head over there, such that I was willing to wake up earlier and go all the way to harborfront! So we met at Tampines, and reached harborfront on the dot at 11! Took the lift up, only to find it.. Closed.

-.-! Imagine the disappointment we felt when we saw the entrance all dark and closed. Tried another entrance which didn't work as well, and finally went to the other lift to take the lift back to the ground floor, and that side has an entrance that actually stated the opening time: 11.30am. =.=! We all thought it started at 11, and hence after the booboo, we had another half an hour to while away before the meal. Went back to the restaurant on the dot and had our fill of food! I personally thought that we didn't eat very much, but I just couldn't figure out why I was full that early.. Lol. Thanks Liping for the treat!

We left the restaurant rather early, at 1plus, and decided to catch a movie, while Weisheng headed down to PA to help AI take some random instrument.. Because I was raving about wanting to watch Pink Panther, the other 2 gave in to me and we all bought tickets for the show. Spent another 2 hours walking around doing nothing while waiting for the show to start. But I didn't regret watching, it was so funny! Albeit I think part1 was funnier. :D Clouseau rocks!

Ended up somewhat at City Hall even though I've already had dinner, -.- And reached home only at 10 plus 11.. A full day of activities tired me out.

Wednesday was a full day of activities too, though it was kind of different from Tuesday.. I spent 6 hours in PA, 3 hours at tuition, and then went out (after going home) for dinner at Bugis.. Waited for Andy to finish his POP and had a quick dinner before we went home..

I was supposed to attend Lawrence's press conference on Thursday. It was supposed to start at 10am.. and I woke up at 9.30am, awakened by Lawrence himself somemore. So paiseh! Cabbed down and walked in a while after the press conference has started.. The busy man, wanted to talk to him after the press conference ended, because that day was his birthday too! But well, he just kept on disappearing, so I had no choice but to leave first. Met my cousin because she wanted to pass me my present! I was abit mafan in meeting her, :(

Andy came to fetch me and Shaun at suntec at 2 plus, and after fetching Shaun to AI for him to terrorize people, we went down to NUS to fetch Pinyan, and I had some quality chatting time with Val! I haven't seen her in some time, so it was good that we managed to catch up on some stuff.. So after we fetched Pinyan, I went home for dinner while the rest headed off to Meiting's chalet first.. Spent a good 15 minutes searching for some lost keys which I very blur-ly kept it in a drawer -.- And hence had to cab a second time because Longhui told me she would be cutting cake like very soon. -.- In the end, the cake was only cut half an hour after I reached -.-'' Lol, the surprise of the day was Seryang, who sang this RnB version of happy birthday! Hahahahaha that's rather 可愛 of him, thanks Seryang!

The PA peepz gave me this ultra humongous card (a pen for comparison's sake) which I fully appreciated, because it came along with a super funny video which I've already transferred to my computer, :D

I appreciated their gift in my bank acct, though they shouldn't have had to spend so much! Times are bad :s Still, many thanks :)

Clement met me on Friday for this lunch/dinner appointment (2.30pm, you decide for yourself) and we headed for Soup Spoon where he treated me! :D We talked about loads of stuff, all the way till back to 4C times, and I suddenly realized I haven't seen 4C people for soooo long.. My bond for 4C wasn't really there though, actually, I don't really form close bonds with my classes somehow. Shrugs. Jap class was over in a jiffy, and I headed over to Pinyan's house with 6 starbucks drinks! Nearly spilled a lot on the way -.- Spent some time watching the Thai horror show on channel U while the guys started off with mahjong.. I somehow fell asleep before the whole mahjong tinge ended, and woke up at 10 to find the rest of them all lying in some corner, lol. So much for trying to reach PA early, in the end we still reached only at 2pm. Had loads of people helping me with my scores though! Thanks peepz :) The few of us ended up leaving the latest, because I had to sort out my scores after the rest helped me with them.. And on the way, we did something!

Trying to step all over each other, lol!

Sunday was a day of meet ups, because I went to The Cathay to meet the NUS peepz for lunch. We wanted to head to Aston's, but obviously we did not expect the 20odd people queue and hence had to change venue because I was kind of starving.. Hahaha. Billy bomber's was the choice because of the recession busters offer! 7 of us ate the set lunches and we only paid $12.50 each in the end. Kind of value for money! They gave me another humongous card and a bag! Lol, because I told them I wanted a bag that was big enuff to fit all my jap stuff :\ My current bags are either too small or it's not suitable lols. Thanks the whole bunch of them for taking time off to dine with me!

Dinner was back at Tampines, because I was craving for cheesecake! Walked into Cartel first because I reached a little earlier than expected.. And soon the whole gang arrived. :D Had a good 3 hours talking nonsense and eating good food which happened to have their prices lowered as well! Our plates were cleared away at 8.30pm, so we had no choice but to order a dessert while waiting for 9pm to come.. for the half priced cakes! The time was so worth it, hahahaha. 9pm came and we immediately went to order the cakes. SO FULL AFTER THE ENTIRE THING! Thanks the guys for their treat too :)

And with that, I kind of ended my birthday celebrations. Simple and sweet. :)
