Here I am 4 months into marriage

With a conscious desire to escape work. The feel is getting stronger even as I get busier! Everything is settling into a routine i.e. get up, (gym), shower, wake the man up, hustle in the kitchen, move out and get to work, get off work, go home (either back home or his mum's or my mum's), (cook), (wash clothes), eat, clean up, prepare for bed. With weekends come more washing of clothes, wiping down the house, general housework that's not done during the week.

I can appreciate the fact that such a life can and will get monotonous after a while and if left untouched, we will lose the spark of joy (lol) sooner or later. As it is, we only have half a day each weekend to perhaps enjoy each other's company. Hence, I also recognise the importance to retain that spark and do stuff that is non monotonous i.e. go out, date, etc. ;-)

Besides that.. I am totally becoming a cook!

Heh heh I enjoy the process and end product (if it's tasty). Cooking makes me happy!

Let's hope I keep it up ;-)

In other news.. I was really disappointed that I wasn't even though it wasn't planned.. The hopes and expectations!

One more week later.. I am cooking

In the midst of a strong urge to burn up the tender specs.. I decided to take a break and blog.

I will maybe get bashed by the MIL if I don't start cooking la hor. Last week she was like.. "Actually you all can come home any time to eat, just tell me". I think she is really worried her son will be eating dabao-ed food most of the time.. :/

So I cooked.

Well, some of it anyway (we do have a fair bit of instant food nonsense in the freezer..).

And I made a mess of the kitchen.

But it's my kitchen!!

Woohoo.

Now I get why my mum would fret over what to cook.. Before cooking yesterday I am already wondering what to cook tomorrow.

I think it shall be broccoli with shitake, egg with onion and ham, and ABC soup! (because... limited ingredients in fridge).

Piang eh, it is very hard to buy raw ingredients for 2 pax...
