French textbooks vs French

How to learn grammaire like that?!
French textbooks are after all (probably) designed by French. And thus, like French, they have that same element of pride in their language. That pride which will outweigh any other pride, especially towards English speaking people! And that was how the above came about. How to learn grammar like that for a level 1 noob who wants to learn French by himself/herself?? You know, at least my Jap textbook explains itself clearly (in terms of grammar usage), even though the entire textbook is in Japanese. And thus noobs are not suitable for such textbooks!

Spur of the moment

Packed up my room yesterday and satisfied that it's sufficiently tidy, though I seriously want to find another day to clear up the cupboard.

Am quite tempted to go back and register at JCS, seeing the amount of work that I've put in over the years. But, that would be silly now and I would just regret it in the future (again).

Am also quite bothered by how our working styles are so different we are totally on parallel paths, not to cross each other. How to be in sync with each other if we cannot agree on each others' differences?

Dear God, I have been bad.

By waking up at 8plus this morning, but went back to sleep and only woke up to realize that class starts in 10min..

But I will repent, by studying more.. French. Haha.

It's quite a shiok feeling to be able to sleep in on a Saturday morning.. Instead of rushing to get out of the house at 9plus. Guess I'm totally giving up on the idea of continuing Jap lessons. Spent the whole year trying to catch up with whatever the teacher was saying, but to no avail. I swear the last test was really a miracle of some sort, but I doubt this kind of miracle will happen again anytime soon. -.-

STILL lack of sleep, because apparently only slept at 5 yest.. -.- Still want to close my eyes. Bleah.

Wednesday night and none done!

My jap homework, that is. Nua-ed too much after coming home, and just solved a -.- maths question which should have been easy but instead took me 5 whole pieces of workings before I could finally see what's going on. ... When the mind is not working well, it really can't work well -.-

And hence, I'm buried under a few worksheets, questions from the text, a yet to be started essay, and kanji test on sat.. Omg.. There's no way I can finish everything! Panic mode. How I wish I'm reading french, at least I can hamtam the meaning and not have to flip dictionary......

The nasal system is currently undergoing full alert mode. Must have been something that triggered the system to keep on fighting the imaginary enemies -.- Strongly suspect that bottle of oil dad was rubbing like mad with just now. Gosh, I have a screwed up nasal system!!! With a never ceasing cough, running tap, and inflamed throat.

It's nothing short of a miracle that I was able to pass Japanese term test with SUCH high marks, and for that I promised myself I'll pass the finals, if not for anything, because if not what's the point of passing a term test?

I found something I didn't expect to find, I can't find what I expected. Such a weird and random thing, but it goes to show how very naive I am, and how things don't always go according to one's expectations. Should not expect too much of the never perfect homo sapiens.

Saturday

And I'm up the usual time when I wake up for work. Surprisingly. But I'm totally refreshed, because I think I somewhat fell asleep at 11 the previous day.. -.- Which effectively means my Jap is screwed up later la. Maybe that's why I am not really mugging right now but checking my emails and stuff -.-

Another week flew past, and I have yet to make any decision out of anything. Hmm.. Sooner or later the weeks will fly past and it will be December. Zzz.

Very happy for Nicole that she passed her test. Jiayou to the both of us for our respective exams today! Though I think I can give you all the luck since my fate's pretty sealed.

Nothing much this week except maybe I pissed off a couple of people. IP Forum on Wednesday! I hope I learn something when IPOS people come down.

FINALLY watching/having the time to watch Harry Potter tonight. Hopefully it'll be good, and I'll have a great time watching it..

Istana performance tomorrow. Another busy weekend. Ok it's time to get some last min information in.

Counting down: 5 days

to the inevitable: flunking the Jap test. :\

Crap, the only time I can study is during lunch time. Go home at 10pm = just want to nua until 11 plus then sleep can. Craps...

The urge to sleep is so much stronger than the urge to eat nowadays.. -.- I'm pandafied. A trip to watson's is in order!

Time to mug. So that I can fall asleep faster when I see the notes.. Bahhhh.

Sometimes I think I'm so inherently evil there must be some sort of karma. And not to mention super sensitiveness.

I suddenly remembered why I didn't like AHS so much a while back.

It felt so damn weird today during assembly, when I was taking over the duties of Mr Mok (They invited Teo Ser Luck for assembly) when they started standing up, and sprouting words out that I felt unfamiliar. There was the lyrics on ppt, but.. It just didn't feel the same.

My beautiful lyrics:

The stuff shown on ppt:

浩荡圣中气象雄 如鹰展翅岛中

圣洁公义我尊崇 远近嘉名号圣公

治学立业须谦恭 师友爱乐融融

把握今天勤用功 创造锦绣之前程

进德修业树校风 向着标杆力冲

永为基督之精兵 永为邦国之忠臣

Couldn't bring myself to sing the unfamiliar words out. That aside, I still love the chinese pledge! It makes the pledge seem very elegant (:

Took over a lab class today. Ms Elsie didn't know there was supposed to be lab for 3G today, so I ended up being the only person in the entire lab shouting over 31 loud monkeys. Luckily I did the lab with the other class yesterday already -.-

That aside, I'm really rather happy in AHS now. Loads of teachers to talk to, and I don't know what made me go up to a teacher (who apparently just came not long ago) during lunch today and sit down and chat with her. Guess it's the familiar atmosphere lowering my normal apprehensiveness.

I should make use of the break time tomorrow to mug mug mug mug mug. Exam on friday, and I feel like there's nothing in my head!!

And I realized, relief teaching in the morning and going for tuition in the afternoon is such a tempting route to go, lol because relief teaching has no workload, and then after tuition the nights are still free! And after calculation, there's a decent take home pay. Okok stop dreaming. That's not likely to happen.

Congrats to AHSCO for maintaining (didn't know they got gold in 2007, lol), and to AICO for attaining gold. Even though they are giving out golds like freebies this year.. And gwh-s are like topless5 for $1.38.

Bah ok I'm rambling nonsense. Time to study then scoot off to bed.

The ジョイスin 2009

is learning to open herself to others. I'm not sure how, I'm not sure why, but she has been voicing out thoughts a lot more lately, and she's actually pretty comfortable with it. This is a pleasant surprise. :) To different people, different matters of varying importance. It's still not a lot, but at least it's a start. I can see where 2009 is going to head towards: Opening up more, AND learning to talk to an audience.

Jap class on friday terrified me because of the self introduction we had to give, and 1 1/2 yrs of non Japanese didn't exactly comfort me. At least it pleased me to know that liu sensei (haiz, got back her for my sensei, but at least I think she improved from intermediate times!) went through revision sentences before asking us to introduce ourselves. I did pretty badly, but at least I talked. And that's the start of everything isn't it? Pretty funny to discover a second Joyce sitting beside me after my self introduction.

I will learn to open up more in 2009, and not hide 100% of my thoughts. I will also learn to speak, and get some of that confidence that I am sooo lacking in. :) I actually like sharing my thoughts. :)
